OceanGate’s Titan successfully completed between 10 to 13 dives to the Titanic since 2021. Using the principle of saturation, the CEO of OceanGate declared, ‘We have enough data! The Titan is completely safe.’

In this example, the measurement curve is very asymmetric (very low frequency, very high cost). This requires a radically different sampling strategy, and more importantly, a very different way to interpret research data.
