You make an excellent point. As someone who remembers v1 of the iPod, v1 of the iPhone, and v1 of the App Store, I always force myself to remember that this is v1 of SwiftUI. In retrospect, if you look back at the first iPhone and iPod, they gained way more capability over time. My hypothesis is that SwiftUI will see that same push up in the years ahead … but then again, Apple has released many technologies that didn’t gain traction. So we’ll see. I’m guessing WWDC this year will shed more light on SwiftUI’s future.

With regard to Xcode, we’re in complete agreement there. It does have a long way to go to becoming a designer tool. Sometimes I wonder whether the best path forward is a clean-slate design tool vs. trying to continue in Xcode.
